Customer Blog: Immi’s Christmas Experience – Aged 5

Christmas is a magical time of year, especially if you’re 5 years old! so here’s a little bit out what Immi, aged 5 had to say about our Christmas on the Farm experience. A great read if you have children yourself. *thank you to Immi’s grown ups for helping her write this.

I came to visit the farm with my two friends Holly and Evie, who are actually twins and a little bit older than me! We walked around the main farm first so that we could see all the animals before it got dark and before visiting the Christmas Courtyard. We went in the Silver Barn and had a look at the beautiful reindeer Bella and Moss, they are white and grey and have big antlers. Holly and Charlie the ponies were also in there so I went and said hello to them too! When we were at the Reindeer, there was a Farmer there telling everyone all about them so I learnt that boy reindeers antlers sometimes fall off, I think that might make them look a bit silly.

After we had a walk around in the Silver Barn, we decided to pop over to the tea rooms to warm-up, it was busy but we got a table in the middle. Something really exciting happened in here… I tried a hot chocolate for the very first time! My friends Holly and Evie love them and told me to try one, I actually really like it now, it was delicious! Holly and Evie both had whipped cream on theirs but I just had hot chocolate! On our way to the Christmas experience, we wrote a letter to Santa and posted it in the White Post Farm postbox so it could be sent off to the North Pole! The post box was so much bigger than me and had lots of different holes to put your letter in.

Mummy said it was now time for our Christmas Experience, so we headed over to the Christmas courtyard. When we arrived at our Santa-sleigh experience, we met Button the elf, in his funny top-hat, he looked a bit like Farmer Antony haha. His outfit was a bit silly and covered in buttons… he shouted our names out and it made me laugh! He checked us in to Santa’s secret hideaway. When we headed into the room Santa was stood at his naughty and nice list,  I don’t even think he noticed us walk in and sit in the sleigh! There was trees and lights and bark on the floor that made it feel like we were in the woods. There was a very silly elf in there, he was called Patch, and he came in and shouted to Santa that he had just fed his reindeer… I think Patch is funny and tries to make Santa laugh a little bit, he made me laugh. Elf Astrid was also in Santa’s secret hideaway, and she helped us all get into the right sleigh ready for our experience, there were other elves too but I can’t remember their names but they all looked very pretty one was covered in snowflakes and the other had a really long bobble hat on.

In the sleigh there were cosy blankets and I sat in the middle of Holly and Evie and mummy sat in the same sleigh but behind us… Santa read us a Christmas story. The Christmas story was about a Lamb, a Porcupine and a very tall Donkey. It was all about friendship and being kind to each other, mummy said that me and my friends need to be kind to each other to stay on the nice list.  After the Christmas story was finished, we all got to go up and have our photograph taken with Santa, which was really cool, we gave him a high five and he said he liked milk and cookies on Christmas Eve. We then headed to Whistles Toy Workshop to choose a toy I went for a purple reindeer teddy, and I decided to call it Bell after one of the elves who had bells all over them!

We then decided that we wanted to go and toast some marshmallows at the fire pit, so we used one of our snowflake coins to get our marshmallow stick and toast it at the fire pit! Elf Pine was there to show us how to toast the perfect marshmallow! We then all went into Pixie’s Sweet Emporium and bought a giant lollipop with the rest of our snowflake coins… it was so yummy and took me a long time to eat!

We had so much fun at the farm doing our Christmas experience, but my absolute favourite part was seeing Santa and having my photograph taken with him! My favourite elf was definitely Acorn, she had a very pretty headband and I’d like one. The last thing we did was walk through the light garden with my lollipop as it started to get dark, it just looked so pretty. I’d like to go and see Santa again soon.
