Lots of Animal babies at the Farm!

Exciting New Animal babies!

We have some exciting news to announce to you guys, some which we have been waiting a little longer to tell you…

There has been some very exciting new arrivals at the farm, meaning our keepers have their hands full with all the new babies! With litters of piglets, and a new exotic baby… we have lots to share with you in this blog.

Piglets, piglets & more piglets!

As many of you know, we have been waiting for both Little T and Nibbly to farrow again for Summer, and the time has finally arrived! Little T and Nibbly are our Oxford Sandy and Black sows, who have lived at the farm for quite some time now and are not first time mums. You may have seen their beautiful piglets before, and we are delighted to announce that we have some more little piglets that were born last week to share with you!

Little T was the first to farrow on the morning of Monday 29th July, having a beautiful litter of rare-breed piglets in the Silver Barn. They are super lively and loving their new home, with mum doing extremely well.. she’s had her practice!

Nibbly then farrowed on the morning of Friday 2nd August, not long following from Little T. Nibbly farrowed in her enclosure up in the field past Sheep Racing, on a lovely warm and sunny day! Come along and see if you can see their little snouts, inside or out!

An Armadillo Baby!

We have some extremely exciting news to share with you about our wonderful Armadillo’s! Ahmed and Matilda have welcomed a beautiful baby Armadillo to the farm, and we are thrilled to finally announce it. Ahmed and Matilda welcomed Delilah, their first born, in May 2023, and over a year later, they have had a second baby! This Armadillo was born on the 24th June and we have been keeping it a secret for quite some time now, to let them settle in to life together.

The exotics team have been monitoring them closely, whilst giving them the space they need to bond. Keep your eyes on our socials for the gender reveal, as well as a naming competition! You can see them from the inside of the Silver Barn, but be sure to be quiet if you want to spot them, as they don’t like loud noise!

Our first ever Chameleon Babies!

The exotics team were surprised to discover some beautiful Chameleon babies on Wednesday 31st July! This was a real surprise as Chameleon eggs take up to 9 months to incubate and hatch, meaning it is not a simple process. However, they managed to take care of these eggs, hiding them to keep them safe, meaning that the exotics team were delighted to be greeted with a lovely surprise! These guys might not be on display, but we wanted to give you a little look at their adorable faces!

We hope you guys are excited to see these new arrivals, and we love seeing your photos, so please feel free to show us in the comments section of both our Facebook and Instagram!
