We’re very excited to announce one of our most exciting developments of our 35 year history…
Reptiles of the World will be home to the only West African Dwarf Crocodiles in the East Midlands* as well as other amazing and rare reptilian species such as the critically endangered Annam Leaf turtles and Black Tree Monitors.
The brand new attraction will be open to customers from Saturday 20th May and is located in our top yard. The new environment will transport you into the habitats of some amazing creatures, from waterfalls and dip pools to sandy desert plains and tropical leafy floors all accompanied by a rainforest soundtrack.
INTRODUCING DESMOND AND NELLIE
Our two West African Dwarf Crocodiles came to us from St Andrews Aquarium in Scotland and have been in quarantine under the watchful eye of Keeper Martin, and our newly crowed ‘Exotics Team’ (which is full of familiar faces!)
Desmond is our male croc and is the biggest in size weighing 15.5kg whilst Nellie is our female croc and weighs 9.5kg
Earlier this month our team introduced them to their new home, after the vet joined us to carry out all the necessary health checks. Our film team were on hand to capture the exciting event so keep an eye out for our ‘Reptiles on the move’ video coming soon.
