Spring half-term was full of fun here at the farm.
Monday was the beginning of Dino week and the guys at Raptors World did not disappoint! The stage was set and they bought two giant Dinosaurs as well as two very cute baby triceratops!
The main attractions were ‘Torro’ the Carnotaurus and ‘Raptor’ the Raptor. They towered above the mums and dads as well as the boys and girls. However they were well trained and friendly enough for a stroke, a tickle and even a selfie.
We LOVED how much our visitors joined in the fun and enjoyed the cheeky side of their prehistoric personalities. Even when they were surprised by some squirting straight from the giant reptilians! Everyone got some time with Torro and Raptor and we can’t wait to have them back again. With so many Dinosaur fans onsite it was awesome to have Reptiles of the World open so everyone could see our very of giant reptiles, Nellie and Desmond the crocodiles! They went down a storm and fit perfectly into the theme of the week!
Living for a week without a head!
The Reptile Show was a chance to meet some more real animals with Steve the Dragon and Banana Bill the snake taking centre stage. Everyone got to learn a fascinating fact or two about some of our exciting exotic collection. Amongst the favourite facts was that our Madagascan Hissing cockroaches can live for over a week without a head! Wow!
As Dino Week ended the fun did not. Saturday 3rd June was Bluey day, and what a day it was. The sun came out and so many of you came to see your favourite Australian pup. We could not believe how popular she is! Especially with mums and dads. (Many of whom were sporting some very stylish Bluey merchandise) Grown ups were recounting their favourite episodes and even answering Bluey quiz questions from Farmer Ant and Farmer Tom. Ha!
Bluey was really friendly and made sure every child had a high five, a cuddle and a picture. But she also made sure mum and dad got a chance to meet her too. We definitely want to have Bluey back so make sure you head to social media to let us know if you’d like to come back to see her again!
Our visitors even got the chance to meet a brand new baby Tawny owl as well as enjoying the sunniest Sheep Race of the year. Such a great day!
Our next Character Day is just around the corner as we head into the Summer Holidays. Chase and Marshall from Paw Patrol are coming to the Farm on Saturday 29th July and will be appearing at intervals throughout the day. Make sure you pre-book your tickets to guarantee your place. Just click here and get ready for another day of family size fun.
Thanks again for all of you that came to see us over half term. We have lots of news heading your way so don’t leave it long to come back and see us again!
