Females Black Tree Monitors lay up to 6 eggs in a clutch and take 165 days to hatch.

IUCN Red List Status: Data Deficient

Diet: Carnivorous, eating a variety of invertebrates, small mammals and birds.

Habitat: Humid forests and mangroves in tree tops and vines. Black Tree Monitors are endemic to the Aru Island off the coast of New Guinea.

Fun Fact: Their tail makes up to 70% of their total body length!
