Little Farmers Club

Take a look at our Little Farmers Club aimed at 2-4 year olds. Fun and interactive learning every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in term time.

Each week has its own topic based on a story-book and involves an animal activity as well as a fun take-home craft! A snack is provided for the little ones, as well as a hot drink for the adults!

Little Farmers is a weekly group for children aged 2-4 years which aims to develop their early learning skills in a hands-on environment. The sessions are held at the farm every weekday morning from 10am until 12 noon. Each week is based on a story!

The sessions are run by two experienced members of our education team, with all the bespoke activities/crafts made to encourage learning and personal development. Little Farmers is also a great chance for your little ones to socialise.

Term starting 1st June

Week 1: (WC 1st June) –  A Buzzy Trail

This week, the Little Farmers will be learning all about bees and other pollinators and how we can care for them. They will be heading around the farm on a Buzzy-trail to spot the different types of Bumblebees! The song of the week will be ‘Bees in the Bottom of the Garden’, so get practising before this week’s session.

This week’s craft will involve creating your own Bee craft based on what you have learnt during the session!

Week 2: (WC 8th June) –  Birds of Prey!

This week, the Little Farmers will get the chance to spend some time with our Birds of Prey at Go Active Falconry after reading ‘Birds build a nest’. The team will get to watch the birds fly and even give them a tummy-tickle!

This week’s craft will be making our very own toilet roll bird feeder, before closing the session singing ‘Two Little Dickie Birds’.

Week 3: (WC 15th June –  Waddle and Quack!

This week, to celebrate all the special men in our lives for Father’s Day. The book Little Farmer’s will be reading this week is called ‘Duck, Duck, Dad’, before heading to the encounter room to meet a duck!

The Little Farmers will then be heading to the WPF Pier to feed the geese, before heading back to the education barn to make a very special Father’s Day card.

Week 4: (WC 22nd June)  –  Little Armoured One
This week, the Little Farmers will get the chance to meet some of our armadillos with the exotics team. The book Little Farmeris weeks book will be ‘Oh, armadillo! This party’s all wrong’.
The Little Farmers will be heading to the armadillo enclosure to meet a keeper and make their very own enrichment for the armadillos. They can even have a feel of the marioworms that they eat. This week’s craft will be creating a giant armadillo collage as a team!
Week 5: (WC 29th June)Moos and Milk!

This week, the Little Farmers will be going on a tractor ride to feed the cows for Moos and Milk week. They will be reading the book ‘The Cow Who Climbed a Tree’, before splitting into two to feed the animals in the Silver Barn, and head on a tractor ride, then swapping.

This week’s craft is everyone’s favourite activity…. Messy Play and closing the session by singing ‘Jumping up and down on a big red tractor’.

Week 6: (WC 6th July)The Olympics!

This week, the Little Farmers will be showing their own Olympic talents in our Sports Day! To encourage our Little Farmers for their sports activities, they will get the chance to watch their very own private Sheep Race at the racetrack.

After the break, the Little Farmers will get involved in a range of sports day activities, including egg and spoon race, water bucket, beanbag balance, and score a goal!

Week 7: (WC 13th July)Fun Week!

This week, the Little Farmers will have lots and lots of fun to celebrate the final session of the year before the Summer holidays!

The Little Farmers will get the chance to choose their own fun activities for these sessions, as the Education team will send out a poll to all adults to vote for their favourite activities of the term! So, keep your eyes peeled for your poll email.

You do not have to attend every session, so if you want to pop along for a few sessions a term, please do! Prices include hot drinks for the adults, and all the resources (plus snacks) for the little ones:
