Here are some fun facts and information about Long-tailed Chinchillas.

Chinchillas are a species of rodent, with a soft, dense fur with around 8 hairs in each follicle.

IUCN Red List Status: Endangered.

Diet: They forage for food during the night and eat a range of bark, grasses, herbs and plants.

Habitat: They originate from western South America, and are a nocturnal species and are mostly active at dawn, dusk and night.

Fun fact: Chinchillas only have four toes on each foot!
