Meet our Meerkats!

Here are some fun facts and information about our Meerkats.

We have two groups of Meerkats here at the farm, one group of girls and one group of boys. Both groups live together in the Top Yard next to our Cape Porcupines!

IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern.

Diet: Meerkats are carnivorous. Their diet mostly consists of insects, but they also eat small mammals, reptiles and even scorpions!

Habitat: Meerkats live in the grasslands and deserts of Botswana, Namibia and South Africa.

Fun fact: The dark fur surrounding a meerkats eyes, helps to reflect the sunlight!
