IUCN Red List Status: Near Threatened

Diet: They are herbivores, grazing primarily on a variety of grasses and plants as well as foraging throughout the day.

Habitat: They can be found across the grassland regions of Central and Southern Argentina.

Fun Fact: Mara can jump up to 4 feet in the air! This is known as stotting and helps them evade predators.
